The Porsche 911 Carrera - less polluting than the What Car Green Car Award Winners
Earlier today we did a round-up of this year’s What Car Green Car Award winners. Which many find of interest as they believe the right thing to do is buy a car with low CO2 emissions. Regular readers will know that we are not impressed with the obsession with CO2 and want Governments to stop taxing motorists based on the nonsense that CO2 is harmful, and instead base taxation and future objectives for the car industry on what really matters – emissions from cars that are detrimental to health.
The Mitsubishi Outlander GT Concept will go in to production - expect it in the UK in January 2010
Tagged as a Concept Car when Mitsubishi revealed the first information last week, it has now been confirmed that the Outlander GT will go in to production. It will lose a few of the Concept-Cutie bits, such as the ventilated Brembos and the Oz wheels, but apart from that it will be produced pretty much unchanged. I wasn’t too sure about the Lancer nose when it first came in (although it has grown on me) but it does suit the Outlander GT.
The Nissan X-Trail gets a facelift for 2011
You could be forgiven for thinking that Nissan has lost interest in it’s ‘proper’ SUV/4x4s, being interested only in its crossovers – the Nissan Qashqai and soon to be launched Nissan Juke. Nissan’s refusal to bring it’s desert-crushing Patrol to the UK would seem to reinforce the thought, but despite perceptions Nissan are about to launch the 2011 Nissan X-Trail facelift. The X-Trail is an on-road offroader in the old fashioned sense; not a crossover.
